School closures and the coronavirus pandemic showed the potential of online learning, but also the extent of the digital divide, with many children and young people locked out of their education due to lack of access to devices suitable for learning.

To address this, Equal Education set up a digital technology offering and can provide high-quality digital devices to schools and Local Authorities on a leased basis, mitigating the risk of using second-hand devices. Our device-managed iPads with keyboards are an innovative, engaging and most importantly safe way to support learners in their education. We offer ongoing monthly support in the following ways:

Supply: After confirming the number and tier of devices needed, Equal Education orders and delivers the devices to the parent/carer/teacher with updates and guidance on setting up the device.

Safe & Secure: Each device is installed with specialist protection software which enables Equal Education to limit distracting and dangerous website or apps, maintain safeguarding features, and locking down stolen or lost devices. Additionally, devices are locked into our management, thus preventing unauthorised sale of the device, guaranteeing only selected students benefit from these devices.

Ready to learn: Each device will already have all the software pre-installed on the device, with no changes or updates needed by users.

Protected: Each device is insured, meaning accidents and mishaps aren’t the end of the world.

Onboarding: Children and carers will be onboarded to ensure they are comfortable with the device and its educational usage.

Custom App Library: Through collaborating with students from UCL, Apple Education and our tutors, we have produced a list of vetted educational Apps and can curate an engaging digital experience for our students, as per their individual requirements and goals.
